Producing a video for The Marble Ring was a challenge that Platypi really enjoyed undertaking. The Marble Ring is a 1920’s style prohibition era speakeasy that is heavily inspired by the history of Zelda Fitzgerald. Capturing the shadow and mystery of such a place was our task. The video gave off a film/noir feel that provided the exact mood that perfectly fit our client’s vision and told the story of the speakeasy while of course not giving away too many secrets.

Birmingham Mountain Radio's website was in need of a remix and that is exactly what we gave them. Our designers wanted to craft a design that reflected the unique personality of BMR. A little retro. A little modern. A lot of awesome. BMR’s new site is now a single page application which makes for a much faster load time. No more waiting forever for your favorite jams to play. Our Content Management System enables BMR to add upcoming events and concerts as well as content with ease. Now for the most exciting feature, the live music player works on mobile, so you can finally listen to BMR on the go! Check out the finished project - and listen to some live tunes - here!
Platypi has seen the GLOW brand through from its inception to launch, creating the branding, website, customer facing & management facing cross-platform mobile applications, and more! We've enabled the company to grow a mere idea of delivering on-demand spray tans into a suite of beauty services . This required industry research, strategic branding meetings, creative iterations, and digital marketing campaigns - all of which we were entrusted with to successfully implement to ensure a well-received brand was recognized in the market before the mobile apps were even available. Download the GLOW app in the App Store and Google Play!
How has it already been one whole year since our first cohort graduated? We can't believe it either! We sure have been busy this past year. We revamped our branding and website and dug a lot deeper into our targeted digital marketing campaigns. And it worked. Our demand has gone through the roof which prompted us to add to our curriculum. We now offer a course in Full Stack Development, but the most exciting and rewarding thing about this past year in Depot/U is that we have trained 67 new developers for the Birmingham community!
